A
few words first This website is an information and multimedia resource for fans
or people who just like to know more about Marshall Bell. Twenty years after
his first work in Alan Parker's Birdy, four years after the start of the tribute
page, and several requests later, the tributepage became an official website.
As said, this website started out as a tributepage, because
I liked Marshall's work ever since I first saw him and that was back around
1990. I always thought he was a very underrated actor in Hollywood and when
I searched the internet, there was hardly anything to find about him.
Back in 2000 I started having contact with him and set up a
small website. We talked about an official site a couple of times by email,
but when we met in Los Angeles, we picked up the subject again. So when I got
back home, I started working on it and it grew to become this one, which is
not only for him, but also made partially with his help. I must admit, I'm not
a professional websitebuilder and I have quite a busy life too, but just doing
it for the fun of it.
When you send a message to Marshall, he may not always reply, not even to me,
with his busy schedule, so don't ask me why he doesn't mail back.
Just send your message again, sometimes it may take 2 or 3 times for him to
reply.
Holiday in Montana In 2001, my partner at that time
and I went to Montana and got to spend some time at Marshall's previous (huge)
ranch. If you're interested in reading the logfile, go ahead.
Holiday in LA In 2004 I went to LA, just for a holiday, no intentions on meeting Marshall,
didn't even know if he'd be working on a movie or not, just taking a break. I
made a logfile, which was made for my friends to read and of course for my own
reminder, but since it involved some time along with Marshall, I'll
share it with the rest of you folks.
Facts 2006 Facts
2006 was the first time I ever went to a movieconvention, mainly for the
guests who were invited. I got to meet some great actors, like Lance Henriksen
(Millenium), Michael Ironside (Starship Troopers), whom I'd never expected to
be so witty! Richard Gibson and Kim Hartman ('Allo 'Allo) and best of all to
me, Guy Siner ('Allo 'Allo) who performed as my most favorite character in 'Allo
'Allo as Lt. Gruber. For some images taken at Facts, have a look here.
